On the day of your procedure, you will be welcomed by our nursing team, met by your anaesthetist, and reviewed by your surgeon. The general anaesthetic is gentle and modern — most patients describe drifting off, and waking shortly afterwards in our recovery area with the procedure complete.
We use the latest surgical techniques to minimise tissue trauma, reduce post-operative swelling and speed up healing. Local anaesthetic is administered while you are asleep so that you wake up comfortable, and we provide all of the medications, instructions and contact details you will need at home.
Dental Extractions under General Anaesthesia
Tooth extraction is one of the most common procedures we perform — and one of the most rewarding to do well. Whether you are facing the removal of impacted wisdom teeth, multiple decayed teeth, or a complicated surgical case, 3AI Care offers a calm, controlled environment in which your extractions can be completed in a single visit, while you are comfortably asleep.
Who this is for
• Patients needing wisdom teeth removed, including impacted or surgical cases.
• Patients requiring multiple extractions in the one visit.
• Anxious patients who cannot tolerate dental extractions in a normal chair.
• Patients with a strong gag reflex or anatomical difficulty.
• Children and adolescents who cannot reasonably cooperate for an awake procedure.
• Medically complex patients who benefit from anaesthetist-supervised care.
What to expect
Recovery
Most patients return home within an hour or two of waking up. You will need a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you overnight, and you should plan to take it easy for the rest of the day. Detailed recovery instructions are provided in our Patient Preparation Guide and will be reinforced before discharge.
